I have the ability to align business requirements to IS strategy, gain stakeholder buy-in and manage multiple suppliers. Facilitating agreement of solutions in an effective manner ultimately leading to timely, on-budget and accurate delivery of services.

If I had to list me key areas of expertise, they would be:

  • Stakeholder Management
  • Vendor Management
  • Business Requirement Analysis
  • Service & Delivery Management
  • Service Design & Transition
  • Service Implementation
  • Contract Negotiation
  • Team Management
  • People Development
  • ITIL
  • Project Management

As with most people in IT I started in a traditional operations (raised floor) environment for a major brewer, before moving into the application development and application maintenance industry. During my 15 years with this organization I performed a number of roles and led a number of very difference and diverse teams, gaining a wealth of experience both in terms of technical and service management skills, but also in working with and managing people.

In 2014 I decided to take that experience and see if I really did have transferable skills that could be utilised across other sectors, so I set up my own IT Consultancy and started looking for customers.

To date I’ve worked with a number of customers, all different, but often having the same sort of challenges. So, since starting my own IT Consultancy, I’ve decided to create a Blog and share my thoughts on working in the IT industry for over 30 years, during which time I have gained a great deal of experience across different business sectors, from manufacturing to pharmaceuticals, from banking to the public sector…”
